Support planned with you

More confidence from the first step to the destination.

Travel support may involve planning a route, preparing for a journey, attending an appointment or activity, and returning home safely. For some participants, the goal may be to become more confident using Brisbane public transport over time.

We consider accessibility, mobility, communication, sensory preferences, timing, weather, transfers and contingency planning. The participant remains involved in decisions throughout the journey.

How this support is planned

Journey details, meeting points, accessibility needs, costs, contact arrangements and backup plans are clarified in advance. Where skill development is a goal, progress is paced around the participant’s confidence.

Before support begins, responsibilities, boundaries, scheduling, costs and communication arrangements should be documented clearly. Support is then reviewed when goals, needs or practical circumstances change.
